Puppy classes are designed to lay the foundation for a well-behaved dog that will be a pleasure to live with and a nuisance to no-one.

The most important stage of your dog’s life is during puppy hood. Our Puppy classes are run in conjunction with the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Assessment and are designed to lay the foundation for a well-behaved dog that will be a pleasure to live with and a nuisance to no-one.

The puppy starter class is a six week course during which you will be taught how to get your dog to walk on lead without pulling; how to get your dog to come back to you; the importance of exercises such as getting your dog to sit and go down on command and socialising with other people and dogs in a controlled manner. We will give advice on various types of collars & leads that are available and how to use them correctly, advice on puppy behavioural problems (as what is your problem with your puppy one week, will most likely be some else’s the next week and what is a problem to you and is giving you concern, more than likely has a simple solution).

We accept puppies of all breeds from about 14 weeks of age.

All dogs must have a valid vaccination certificate which must be shown on the first night.

The puppy starter class is limited to a maximum of 10 dogs so that everyone also has some individual training.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
We hold follow-on classes for all breeds, for dogs that have either completed the Puppy Course or for those handlers who wish to train their teenage, adult or rescue dogs.

The aim of our classes is to produce a dog that will be well behaved and under the control of the handler. We will strive to provide the best possible advice; give owners information that will help them to understand their dog’s mind, so that they will be able to use their dog’s natural instincts in training; improve their dog’s response thereby strengthening the bond between owner and their dog.

Our training classes incorporate exercises for the Bronze, Silver & Gold levels of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme and tests for these awards are held at regular times during the year.

We use positive methods of training and pride ourselves on our unique knowledge of training dogs to an exceptionally high standard and teaching owners the skills necessary to maintain them.
